James Hunter of Townhead owned one horse
Also recorded is a John Smith from Kerricks owning six horses.
This John Smith may be James brother-in-law who would have been born around 1766.
There's a John Swan with two horses who may be the father of the John Swan who married Agnes Hunter.
There is also a William Waugh, Forestrigg with four horses.

ED. NOTE: William Waugh (1746-1808) buried in Dunscore Old Churchyard, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. William WAUGH, farmer in Forest-Rigg of Dalswinton, who died 26th Aug 1808 aged 62 years Erected by R. R. & J. WAUGH. Y-DNA 67 (and P109) match between Thomas Waugh and Jeff Waugh link Robert Waugh of Lochmaben to William Waugh of Forest Rigg.
